Season Launch

The Skills Training Mackay Cutters will launch into 2012 with functions on Friday, February 3 and Saturday, February 4.

On Friday, February 3 at 6:30pm, Souths Leagues Club will host a sponsor's function to acknowledge the support provided by local business. This function will include audio-visual presentations, interviews and the unveiling of the 2012 playing strip. Mackay Cutters CEO, Glenn Ottaway stated, "this is an important night for the club; without the support of our corporate sponsors the Cutters do not exist." He added, "in a small way this is an opportunity to repay the faith they have shown in us, and give them some insight into the year ahead." Refreshments will be provided at the function.

On Saturday, February 4 at 10:00am the Mackay Cutters will work in conjunction with the Queensland Rugby League, Australian Rugby League Development and the Mackay Junior Rugby League to host a fan day as part of the Junior Rugby League sign on. As part of this event all juniors that sign with a club on Saturday will receive free entry to Virgin Australia Stadium for the Cutters first trial game of 2012, against the NQ Cowboys under 20's. Mackay Junior Rugby League secretary Jan Dunn commented, "it is a really great fit to have a Cutters game on the same day as the sign on. Hopefully we get a really big turnout for the sign on and families stay for the day and support the Cutters."
