The Skills Training Mackay Cutters are pleased to announce today the re-signing of Head Coach Paul Bramley for a further two years. Bramley, a Q Cup premiership winning and two-time Coach of the Year will now be contracted to the Cutters until the end of 2012.
STM Cutters Executive Officer Jamie McDonald said that the re-signing of Bramley caps off what has been a fantastic last few weeks for the Club.
"A fortnight ago the Cutters qualified for our first ever Q Cup final series. We defied the critics and beat the Sunshine Coast in the elimination semi final and we now find ourselves only 80 minutes away from a possible Grand Final berth. In the wake of this it is fantastic to be able to announce the re-signing of Paul who has been instrumental in what the Club has achieved this year."
Mr McDonald said that with the Head Coaching position secured the Club will now focus on the recruitment and retention of players for next season.
"With Paul's tenure secured until 2012 we will now work towards retaining players from this year's squad as well as the recruitment of a few new players in key positions for next year. I would think that this should now be an easier task for us in light of today's announcement."
The STM Cutters play Norths Devils at Bishop Park tomorrow in the Intrust Super Cup Preliminary Final, televised live on the ABC at 2pm. The Northern Pride and Souths Logan Magpies will fight it out in the other Preliminary Final on Sunday. The two winners will advance to the Grand Final at Suncorp Stadium on Sunday the 19th of September.
