Cutters forward Dayne Weston and former Mackay player Josh Hoffman have been selected in the Queensland Residents side.
The team was chosen following the QRL City-Country clash in Ipswich at the weekend, which Country won by a narrow four points.
The Queensland Residents will take on a New South Wales Residents side as a curtain-raiser to the third State of Origin game in Brisbane next Wednesday.
Weston’s selection in Residents was all the more impressive considering he wasn’t originally included in the Country side.
The 22-year-old came off the bench for the side and gave a strong performance.
"It was a tough, physical game... it was good to get the win," he said.
Weston said he was "stoked" to be included in the Residents side and is looking forward to being part of the Origin night at Suncorp Stadium.
Hoffman didn’t play in the City-Country match as he was called up to the NRL to play for the Broncos last Friday night.
