The Skills Training Mackay cutters must remain in the Queensland Cup and to do so needs your support. The Committee and sponsors for the first season have worked hard to get a team entered into the competition and we need to keep them there.
Sporting tourism and the promotion of our great region is one aspect of supporting the team. It should also be acknowledged that Rugby League is the most dominant winter sport for this region. Without doubt the STM Cutters have already made an impact on the social and sporting calendar.
The Mackay and District Rugby League Inc. formed and funded the Cutters to gain entry for a team from our region to be in a State wide competition and to attract a higher level of participation for our players. It also offered a new degree of entertainment for local residents and raised awareness of the Mackay district through sport.
From 2009, there will be 12 teams in the competition from Tweed Heads to Cairns and that means 11 home and 11 away games for the Cutters. We are now offering a unique opportunity for businesses and families to become stakeholders in the Cutters.
The facts are simple:
For an investment of $5000 each stakeholder will be issued with an L Class Share worth $1 and the remaining $4999 is sponsorship under the Tax Act.
